Federico Fellini was an Italian film director known for a distinct style that blends fantast and baroque images. He is considered to be one of the most influential and revered filmmakers of the 20th Century. He is pictured here with his then wife Giuletta Masina, an Italian actress famous for her roles in La strada and Nights of Cabiria, both winners of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, in 1956 and 1957, respectively. Masina won the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival for the later film. Photographer Franco Pinna was an Italian fashion and film photographer. He worked for Associated Press and had a brief career in film documentary photography before his fashion career took off in the mid 1960s. Inscribed on reverse:
